Personal and Business Branding – What Does Your Backdrop Say About You?
With most home-working & video conferencing, it can be key to consider your backdrop.
Whether engaging with clients, your teams, or your colleagues. What does your backdrop say about you?
I have been coaching senior leaders, business owners, SME CEO’s, Partners of Law Firms, and other professionals, almost wholly online over the last four years.
One of my first investments was the sign for my backdrop (firm recommendation below).
What would you wear if you were attending a team, board, or client meeting in person? That is your personal brand. Does your backdrop reflect both your personal & business brand?
Messy rooms, laundry, untidy bookcases, certain pictures, tired walls, working on your bed. All give an impression to your clients, colleagues, those you manage, or those that manage you.
Being realistic for your space. A tidy up, fresh paint, a picture, banner, sign, folding screen, decluttering, moving furniture out, or even hanging something on the back of a door so it’s less bare, can make a difference
On some platforms you can change/blur the background – again, choose wisely.
