Are you genuinely annoyed?
Yes of course I am!
Truly?
It has been interesting to note, how I have developed a habit of being irritated/annoyed, about certain things.
Along my life’s journey I have picked up what I ‘ought’ to be annoyed by. More recently I noticed that, actually, I wasn’t that annoyed. Despite the habitual ranting in my head/out loud.
Which of course then created a physiological response to match.
A little while back, I began to say to myself, ‘oh this is a minor niggle’ or ‘irritation’, when things started to bother me. Especially where I found myself overreacting to certain situations. Causing me more upset.
The more I said it, the more I realised I was making small things, into far more ‘rant worthy’ or ‘upset causing’ situations than I genuinely felt deep down.
I noticed I had picked up the habit of being irritated, bothered, mad about those things. In some instances having imitated others. What annoyed them.
I am not saying that I now float about in a bubble of zen, but things are definitely improving!
Have you got some habitual rants, irritations, or upsets, that on reflection, logically, don’t actually bother you that much?
And even those that do, try you own mantra (humour helps) to see if that can help take the edge off of it!
Let me know how it goes.
