WHAT CLIENTS SAY

“Having been in the same job for over 10 years I had become bored and wanted new challenges. Going to work didn’t fill me with the same enjoyment it had done when I started. I was looking for a change but didn’t know what change to make. A coaching session with Simona helped me answer a lot of questions. Some of these questions I had already asked myself but Simona made me look at my answers in a new light, other questions made me think about things in a whole new way.

I came away from the session with a new clarity on what direction I wanted to take and how I was going to get there. I am now looking forward to starting a new chapter of my life. One with more challenges but also more enjoyment.”
Career Change

“Running a law firm brings many challenges. One of the issues I face is maintaining and improving staff morale. Sometimes it is not possible to reward staff with financial incentives and so I wanted ideas about what else motivates staff.

It was important to me to talk things through with someone who knows about lawyers and how to lead. Simona not only gave me some good ideas but also challenged some of my inflexible thinking. I would highly recommend Simona.”
Tracy Morgan, Law Firm Founder, JR Levin Solicitors

“I have had the opportunity to work with Simona on a few occasions now on mindset subjects such as discipline on time management, overcoming fears in relation to some of the day to day challenges of running a law firm and about being more positive about “tomorrow”. Simona has been really helpful on simplifying my concerns and fears leading to me to understand the positives in these situations, the temporary nature of the issue and helping me regain my focus.

I really can recommend Simona, a great listener who has been there and seen life in private practice – she has helped me a lot, is very relatable and a fantastic listener.”

The reality of progressing as a lawyer

Whether you are a few years qualified or an experienced senior fee earner, the expectations keep growing. More complex matters, more supervision, additional targets to meet, and important client deadlines. At the same time, it can be hard to find the time to step back and work out how best to manage it all, develop your skills and habits, all while the work keeps coming in.

It is common to feel capable one day and stretched the next. You may be wondering whether you are progressing quickly enough, or too quickly, finding it hard to balance the work, or noticing that late evenings have become the norm, and burnout feels closer than you would like. Over time, it can cost you motivation, enjoyment of the work, and the progression you have been working towards.

Coaching gives you the time and space to step back with someone who understands law firm life from the inside, so there is very little you need to explain. Together we look at the situations you are facing now, put practical approaches in place, and tackle any habits or beliefs that may be slowing you down. Helping you to progress with confidence, manage your workload, and enjoy the career you are working so hard at.

Why coaching for solicitors and legal executives?

Successful lawyers have mentors, trainers, and coaches. They help them fine-tune their fee-earning, management, leadership, business, and personal development skills, think more fully, uncover blindspots that slow progress, and hold them to their goals and actions.

Individual coaching can complement a firm’s existing training and junior lawyer development programmes, giving newer lawyers dedicated time to work through the new skills, experiences, and challenges they have in practice.

Law Firm Expertise – Previous Salaried Partner, Solicitor 20 yrs, Executive Coach 10 + years

Simona Hamblet, coach for solicitors and legal executivesI have been a professional coach for over 10 years, alongside specialist knowledge of working within law firms. This includes approximately 20 years practising law as an employment solicitor, being headhunted, setting up new departments, and becoming a salaried partner in a dual-office firm. I know what it is like to build a career in law while keeping on top of a busy caseload, and I draw on that, and on the experience of the many lawyers I have coached, to support you in taking your career where you want it to go. Helping you to get ahead more quickly and easily.

Alongside my legal career, my training includes ILM Level 7 and ILM Level 5 in Coaching and Mentoring for Senior Executives, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner, Solution Focused Therapist, Positive Psychology, Time To Think Facilitator (including Transforming Meetings®), EMDR Plus Practitioner, EFT Practitioner Levels 1 and 2, and an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy.

Coaching with Simona

Most of the solicitors and legal executives I work with are capable, committed, and keen to progress. What they often need is clarity on what is getting in the way, or what can help progress happen more quickly and easily, whether that is taking control of a busy caseload, building client relationships, speaking up with confidence with clients and senior colleagues, or quietening the inner critic as they take on more responsibility.

I focus on mindset, behaviour, and strategy, so our sessions create internal change alongside tangible, practical actions and results that work for you.

Frequently asked questions

It is one-to-one coaching for solicitors, legal executives, and lawyers who want to build confidence, manage the growing demands of practice, and progress in their careers. I work with junior lawyers finding their feet and senior fee earners taking on more responsibility, with support as real situations arise. Sessions are online, so I work with lawyers across the UK and internationally.

Training usually covers what you need to know, and it is typically delivered once to a group. Coaching works with you on your own situation over time, so you can put that learning into practice, try new approaches, deal with real situations as they arise, review what worked well or did not go as smoothly, and adjust.

No. I work with lawyers at different stages of their careers, from junior lawyers building confidence and independence to senior fee earners taking on more responsibility. Starting earlier can help you build good habits and confidence before the pressure grows.

Yes. Everything we discuss is treated in the strictest confidence contractually, which is why so many lawyers value having an independent sounding board. You can find the full details on the pricing page.

Yes. Your firm can pay for your coaching, and many firms treat coaching as part of their training and development budget. We agree at the outset what, if anything, is shared with your firm, so you can speak openly in our sessions.

Only if you choose to tell them, or if your firm is paying and we have agreed in advance what is shared. Everything we discuss is treated in the strictest confidence contractually.

Yes. Coaching helps you reflect on your practice, identify where you want to develop, and put that learning into action, which you can record as part of your SRA continuing competence, including what you learnt and how you have applied it.

The simplest way is a free discovery call. It is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation about what you want to change and whether coaching with me is the right fit. If it is not, I will say so.
