Work Life Balance for Lawyers | Online Session 24 Nov 2026

Are you so busy responding to everyone else’s needs that you rarely ask yourself what you want from your work and your life? Are you hoping 2027 will be different? Is it likely?
Most lawyers spend their days solving problems for other people. We try to be available whenever a client or team member needs us, whatever the cost. It leaves little time to stop, think, and reflect on what is, and is not, working.
Perhaps you are doing too many things that frustrate, bore, or drain you. Perhaps you are in the wrong place, or with the wrong people. Or perhaps your days are full, but not particularly fulfilling.
And what about life outside work? Have fun, hobbies, and time with the people who matter to you slipped down the list?
The weeks before Christmas rarely help. There is rush to meet end-of-year deadlines, and December brings extra personal commitments and social engagements.
Then January arrives, the diary fills again, and the question of what you want is postponed for another year.
Ninety minutes for you, before Christmas takes over
This free online session is your opportunity to step back before that happens.
For ninety minutes, I will guide you through a series of questions and exercises. They will help you work out what you want to keep, change, and add in 2027, what might get in the way, and what to do instead.
This is not about your business strategy, becoming more productive, or squeezing more into your day. It is about your work, your life, and what you want from both in 2027.
You will leave with
1 to 3 priorities that matter most. The changes that would make the biggest difference to your work and life in 2027, and what you want to keep.
A practical plan. The steps needed to start making those changes in January, and a monthly reset to keep them on track through the year.
A way through the obstacles. Both the self-talk and practical issues that could get in the way of your plan, and what you can do about them, so that the changes you want do not disappear as soon as the diary fills again.
You will also take away the workbook, so you can keep coming back to your plan through the year.
You do not need to know the changes you want before you come. You just need to give yourself ninety minutes to work them out.
Previous attendees have found it impactful, and one said they would “absolutely” recommend it to other lawyers.
If you would also like to look at why it can be so hard to change the way you work, I am running a separate workshop on 26 January 2027, Why Lawyers Stay Stuck in Firefighting Mode.
