Did you know?

To understand more about meetings, Doodle recently examined 19 million meetings, and interviewed over 6500 professionals.

Do any of these experiences sound familiar?

They found that professionals in the UK:

• spend on average two hours every week in ineffective or unnecessary meetings
• typically attend three meetings every week
• believe two thirds of meetings are unnecessary

• and 40% believe it is the biggest cost to their organisation

The cumulative yearly cost to companies is the equivalent of 384,657 years.

Doodle also investigated what was considered a ‘good’ or a ‘bad’ meeting.

They discovered that:

‘Good meetings’ were reported to include being face to face, preferably held in the morning, had clear objectives and agendas, and not too many people in the room.

‘Bad meetings’ were caused predominantly by people, interrupting, not listening to others, arriving late or leaving early, not contributing, taking calls or sending messages, or talking about nothing for long periods of time.

Many of us can relate.

To bring together some guidelines and tips, and help run better meetings. I have put together a downloadable PDF Checklist for before, during, and after meetings.
