0 CommentsMaking December Count For Your Goals
Do you sometimes find that the New Year comes around, and some goals or changes you wanted, still need to happen?
What if this year could be different?
Goal Setting In December
There are a few reasons why goal setting, and starting in December, might be helpful for you or your business.
For many, making a start on goals in December, leaves us feeling more accomplished, and therefore motivated, as we begin the new year. In this case 2020!
We also get more (of what needs to be) done in December, and the start of the year, putting us ahead of the game.
By taking time to plan our goals in advance, choose the steps that will take us there, and then begin. We make a significant difference.
Particularly, as New Year goals (or resolutions), tend to be the type where we try to change everything all at once, hence they rarely succeed.
So, whether your goal is an external goal around promotions, fitness, business growth, or gaining new skills.
Or internal goals around setting boundaries, changing particular beliefs or mindsets, handling certain situations differently, or upping confidence in certain areas.
You can start planning and acting now.
Imagine the countdown to New Year, knowing things are already different to last year.
By making that start, it feels positive, and can also help us stay motivated, into January. Whereas typically, goals can fade, and the next thing we know another month has passed.
Make this year different, plan, and take at least one significant step (whatever that means to you) before the end of the year.
Time Focus
December can also be a good time to focus on goals, because after some potential mayhem. The Christmas break, evenings, and weekends (including into January) often allow for quieter moments.
As a result of this, and the New Year focus on change, we naturally tend to reflect on where we are and where we want to go. We can also have a bit of space, to make certain things happen.
It is therefore a good time for planning, and taking action.
Whether you start goal setting yourself, with a buddy, in a group, or with a coach or mentor. Now can be a good time to look ahead.
